This morning many members went to Sunday mass and the singing was beautiful and enthusiastic. They also record it and share it online.
We all ate a hearty breakfast with the sisters. When some of us discovered there was a Starlink connection, we quickly made our way over to take advantage of a nice rapid connection. It loaded the blog pictures in a wink.
The sisters have wonderful food and we were happy to see the white sweet potato we picked up yesterday on the menu at lunch.
After lunch we were called to the multi-purpose hall where the children put on a wonderful show to thank us and our supporters for the assistance provided to their school. There was a great deal of well-rehearsed singing, dancing and shorts skits. The joy and enthusiasm on their faces is so encouraging.
Later in the day we met with the parish priest Fr Kennedy. He is well contented in his parish with about 1500 enthusiastic parishioners. We met with Sr Marjory and Sr Agnes and we made a plan for the next two weeks.
Meals with the sisters are delicious and interesting. The main starch in their meal is nshima, a porridge form of ground white maise (corn). It is similar to our cream of wheat, but more solid. We had squash greens, white sweet potatoes, fish, meat simmered in a delicious sauce, mushrooms similar to chantarelles, cabbage, white eggplant and pasta. A feast every noon and evening.
